If you're in the mood for cruisin' out on the water then you're in the right place. Here are tips and tricks for renting a boat! Don't forget the sunscreen & Subscribe to the blog!

Growing up on the water gives you the inside scoop on what is needed when out for a boat day with friends. This handful of tips will give you the upper hand you need when thinking about renting a boat for a day out at sea.

Captain

I suggest getting a rental with a captain INCLUDED. When you're worried about fun in the sun the last thing you want to be is responsible! So make calls to see if your boat includes the captain or if there is a fee for the captain!

If you have someone you know you trust with a rental and are willing to be a sober a.k.a the DD (designated driver). The rentals that require a fee for a captain can be pricey so look around and ask around you never know who has a boating license nowadays!

Food

Make sure when you rent the boat you can eat on it! Most boat rentals do allow you to bring food so plan it out! Here are some tips for smooth sailing: Premade sandwiches! On a huge loaf of bread for an easy way to keep a tummy from rumbling.

Fruits! Easy to share it’s easy on your pockets for sure! Plus no one can say no to a healthy snack. Chips and possible dip. It's a classic fan-favorite easy to bring individual packs for the whole gang. Plus something crunchy with the sun beaming on your face is a great combo if you ask me!

Drinks

Hydrate. Even when you're out on the water most people completely forget to keep water bottles on the boat. The sun can really dehydrate you so don't forget to bring enough water bottles based on how many people are coming! Most party boats allow alcohol I suggest having a premade mixture.

Everyone gets wavy and there's no alcohol wastage! Make it nice and strong so you don't end up with people drunker than others. Buy something that can please everyone when it comes to liquor and mixers. For example, Lemonade is pretty universal or some type of juice! As for Liquor one bottle of light and one of the dark!

Weather

You MUST check the weather. No, not just on the day of! When planning your boat day you should check the forecast. Some rentals don't honor a refund due to the weather. Rain or shine you will be charged.

I usually get the forecast from Weather Channel because they have a 10-day forecast and it's been pretty accurate for me!
